Kerry got one of his birthday presents set up in the yard this weekend. He immediately had to share it with the two kids 🙂

I am not sure this was his idea of relaxing but it seemed they were all having fun.

In other fun news, Kerry’s sister and her family came to visit en route to Atlanta. They drove from Minnesota and made great time. Plus, they are enjoying our much better weather (they had snow on the ground when they left). The kids have been getting along great and they are were all exhausted by days end.

Saturday, Kerry, Miss H and I took Miss S to puppy school. It was fun to see Miss S play with the other dogs (and learn some stuff too).

Miss H wanted to bring home another puppy.

Then, we all headed to Burke Lake Park. The playground was a huge hit.

And, the train was a bigger hit.

Sunday, Miss H started swim lessons and she had a great time. We have not always had successful lessons but I think this one might be the best yet. Her teacher was super nice and the pool water was warmer than other locations we have been to.

Then it was off to the National Arboretum with everyone. We walked and walked and burned off some serious energy. We were a little sad to learn that the koi pond was closed until next spring but it was still fun to wonder up to the columns and to see the great views from the top.

And, Miss S got to come too.

I could not get them all to smile (or look at the camera).

Everyone leaves tomorrow morning and we hope the rest of their trip is fun! Plus a happy birthday to Mr. O!

Happy Easter!

8 Apr

Miss H was thrilled that the Easter Bunny arrived in the middle of the night and not only left tons of gifts but hid some eggs around the house. She was spoiled with a new ballet Barbie, a jump rope, a new ball, a hopping chick and egg, some candy (not chocolate), a new plate and cup, ducks for the tub, a basket and many, many eggs. Also, Grandmom spoiled her with some new clothes!

She had fun finding the eggs but we thought we knew how many eggs the Eater Bunny hid but we found a few more this evening. Well, I guess when we move we might be surprised with some more!

Mom and I went to church at Grace Episcopal in Alexandria and since the weather continues to be great, we decided a picnic was in order. Off to Burke Lake Park again!

Today, the train and carousel were running and Miss H enjoyed both.

Also, we enjoyed the playground, ice cream, a picnic and generally the nice weather. Plus, we fed some pretty eager (and territorial) geese and ducks.

Kerry was not feeling so great after all this activity so we headed home. I think we keep forgetting that just a few weeks ago, he had major surgery.

When we got home, we enjoyed some time in our neighbors jeep. He was nice enough to let Miss H drive.

Even with all this activity, somehow, I was the only one who got a nap. But, now, the house is quiet and everyone but me is sleeping.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
