A few months ago, Leigh mentioned going away the weekend after my birthday to Hershey, Pennsylvania and we happily agreed. I should note, that out of the three of us, I am the only one who likes chocolate. Miss H has been so excited by this whole trip that she was waiting to go.
We left Saturday before lunch and made the drive in a little under three hours. Of course, Miss H does not like the highway (it ‘makes her throat hurt…’) but she was easily entertained by some TV shows.
The weather was perfect! After getting checked into the Hershey Lodge, we headed over to the Hershey Gardens to check out the flowers and butterflies. The gardens were really nice (there was even a wedding going on) and Miss H was impressed with all the sculptures.
Some even had water spouts.
We moved onto the butterfly house and Kerry found a few friends.
There were some cool butterflies all around us.
Finally, we were off to our evening in the park.
This little trip confirmed that Miss H is our little daredevil.
She loved all the rides.
She even got her first rollercoaster ride.
Rollercoasters as an adult are much more jarring than I remember.
We rode a bunch of rides and then returned to the hotel for some much needed sleep to gear us up for a full day in the park on Sunday.
