There is a big storm coming this way. My favorite weather site is Wunderground (the image from above) and according to them, we are going to have a major wind and rain event. Officially, the storm is Hurricane Sandy but it is now being referred to here as Frankenstorm, the blizzicane and the perfect storm. The weather people are still debating where it could make landfall but we seem to be one of the options.
Tomorrow, the winds pick up and the rain starts late in the evening. Then Sunday and Monday, is a lot more rain and more wind. By more rain, the news is saying 3-7 inches and sustained winds of 50 mph with gusts that are in the 60-70 mile an hour range. This could go on through Tuesday.
So, we are prepared for a power outage. Kerry cleaned the gutters and I have stocked up on water and food I can cook on the gas stove that does not require refrigeration. I am making port tenderloin tomorrow for dinner because it was in our freezer. Also, I have a mental list of all the things I can do to entertain a three year old inside with limited light in a rain storm. I am taking suggestions if you have some good ideas 🙂
duck tape is entertaining…
