This was our big move into our new house weekend! And it went really smoothly. Our great movers from Two Marines Moving arrived early and spent a large portion of the morning going down our many steps with all our stuff. The only one unhappy about our move was Miss H. She spent most of the morning moping about all the boxes, all her stuff and she just ‘really, really’ wanted to stay at the old house. To ease her worries and sad face, we whisked her away to her favorite babysitter for a day of parties, picnics and fun three year old style.
Once she returned to the new house and saw all the boxes moved, her new ‘barina pink’ room and the huge playroom, she decided she could stay.
Besides getting everything moved, Next Day Blinds came by to measure all 17 windows. Even though it cost a small fortune, it will be nice to have a little privacy because right now, I feel like I live in a fishbowl. I was the easiest customer all day! And, most of the windows will be covered by this coming weekend. We ordered shutters for the living room, dining room and kitchen and they won’t be ready until the beginning of September.
Mom arrived late in the afternoon to help and unpack and help entertain Miss H. She did a great job with both! Plus, we had several friends stop by today and we put them to work assembling furniture 🙂
Miss H picked the dinner menu tonight and opted for pancakes. She needed the coat because it is ‘too cold on here.’
So, we have moved in, met many neighbors, been invited to the neighborhood party and have lots and lots of boxes to unpack but all is well in the new house. We love our new home!
