I love this time of year for the addition of more daylight to the evening but I don’t love it for what it does to the sleeping habits of one almost three year old. As I was laying down with her at 8:45 pm last night, I was cursing the time change. Her eyes were as big as saucers and she was busily chatting away. In my head, I was screaming at daylights saving, ‘it is only ONE hour!’ Seriously, how can one little hour change up our bedtime routine for the next few weeks! For someone who can’t even tell time, she is greatly impacted by the change up.
She finally did go to sleep but I know we have a few days until we are all adjusted. Of course, this morning, she did not want to get out of bed. I know she will appreciate the extended daylight ad the ability to spend more time at the park in the evening.
Besides the time change, we had a weekend filled with errands. We have been on the hunt for a replacement ceiling fan for our loft and it is turning into a more expensive item that we thought. The downside to having cathedral ceilings is that items like this are not easily installed and since Kerry’s back has enough problems, we will be hiring someone to replace it. Big ceiling fan + high ceilings + custom switch + electrician= better looking ceiling fan at way more than we wanted to spend 🙂 But the current one is a lovely combination of brass and wicker that should have been replaced years ago. Now, we see why the previous owners probably did not replace it. As we start to prepare to sell our house, we debated that it did not prevent us from buying the house (the ugly monstrosity above the loft) but both of us feel that it needs to go. Miss H had fun visiting the ‘fan stores.’
Other house items that need to be crossed off the list include, new window covering and our friendly painter is coming to repair some cracks and paint. Now, if we could just decide where we should move- we would be on the right track 🙂
In other news, we finally found a green tutu. Miss H has been asking for one for weeks and while I was running errands yesterday, I spotted one. Not the traditional colors for a tutu but she was so happy to see I had found one. And, she made a lovely combination of orange, green and yellow yesterday.
