The Power is Back

I think the power was out for 12 hours. The nice recorded message on Dominion Power said our power would be back between 5-11pm tonight and it was back by 2pm. I love the under promise over deliver. And, to my shock, Comcast was working when the power came back.

Before the power came back, Miss H decided to add Mrs. Potatohead’s earrings to her own outfit.

Between the new ruby slippers, the hair bows and the earrings- she sure is channeling her girly self today.

Post-rain, wind and tropical storm warnings turned into a gorgeous day. We had fun running around the playground.

‘Mom, no picture.’

Hope everyone had a nice post hurri-quake Sunday! And, hope your lights are back on.

Hurricane Irene

Our only issue with Hurricane Irene is our current no power status. And, who knows when it will be back on.

Post-earthquake I stocked up on water, snacks and food that did not require heating or cooling (i.e. bread and peanut butter) to prepare for the strong possibility that we would not have power. When we get five mile per hour winds the power goes of so I knew Irene would down our power source.

Miss H loves playing with the flashlights so this no power thing is pure fun.

Plus, Target was open so we stocked up on fresh Play Dough, new shoes and hair bows. Miss H has never ever worn anything in her hair but ever since getting her haircut yesterday, they are a must accessory. Six to be exact.
