Miss H got really excited about the cupcakes, the singing and people asking her how old she is today (she shouts, ‘TWO!’). The birthday party started last night with a visit from Leigh and Mom. You will start to see a theme with the birthday.
Besides the pretend food and the really cool chef’s hat and apron, Leigh made cupcakes that were a huge hit. Miss H even had them for breakfast.
The rest of the gifts were all assembled this afternoon. Tricycle from Mom, kitchen and other small gifts from us plus some really cute clothes from Kerry’s dad.
It was so exciting. (And, Melissa & Doug was the toy maker of choice this year.)
The kitchen even has a timer, and that might be the coolest part of the whole thing.
Can you believe it has been two years? We are now having conversations (albeit, some of them very odd), chasing her all around the playground, battling over getting dressed and just generally amazed at how much she has grown.
March 2009
March 2010
and, now.
(‘bat pack, door, door, play, out, shoes, bat pack, keys, mommy, mommy shoes, out, play, TOREY!’) If you need translation, essentially she is telling us that she has her backpack and would like to go outside to play. She need her shoes and I need my keys and shoes. We need to open the door. The ‘TOREY!’ is because she does not think I am either paying attention or moving fast enough. I blame Kerry for this 🙂
Happy, happy birthday!
I love the look of sheer delight on her face in one of the photos where she’s playing with her new kitchen.
Her shouting TOREY! is hilarious!
Love the kitchen and hope she likes her book…
