The Tree and Santa

5 Dec

This weekend we decided to put up our Christmas tree and pay a visit to Santa. One thing went well, the other did not.

The tree is a huge hit (‘woooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwww!’). We decided to first just put the lights on the tree and see what she did. She loves to just stand by the tree and rub her nose against the branches. No climbing or pulling or anything that scares us.

We saw Santa at Home Depot on Saturday, we watched a show about Santa on Sunday morning and we also read a book about Christmas, but nothing would get her near the man in the red suit.  He even tried to coax her with a coloring book and a nice smile but she wanted nothing to do with it. Her way of expressing that she was not going to get anywhere near him was first throwing herself on the floor in protest and then running to grandma to be picked up over the fence.

But, all was not lost. We got her picture in the Bob the Builder steamroller.

After all the Santa excitement- Miss H was wiped out so we put her down for a nap.   Kerry watched football and Mom and I went to the Norman Rockwell exhibit at the American Art Museum. It is only in DC for a few more weeks so you should all go pay a visit! The show is all from the collections of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas and it was cool to see them up close and larger than the magazine covers.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
