This time change thing is for the birds

7 Nov

Literally, I am sure the birds appreciate the earlier sun rise but this house does not appreciate the falling back of the clock. Kerry was away most of the week so my grand plan was to have Miss H stay up ten minutes later on Monday, twenty minutes on Tuesday, etc… to accommodate for the time change this weekend. Well, the first night it worked and the second night was fine but on Wednesday night (trying to stay up thirty minutes past her regular bedtime) we made it to three minutes past. I guess I was not moving fast enough because she picked up her blanket, marched back to her room and curled up in a ball on the floor. I think that might have been my sign that she was ready for bed. We made it ten minutes on Thursday night. My grand plan totally failed. I thought kids liked to stay up past their bedtime??

Come Sunday morning, she was up way before the sun. Tonight- she was asleep way early. How long is it going to take for us to get back on our normal schedule?

Miss H got a Halloween card from Mom with money inside so she got a fun drawing board/chalkboard and it has been a huge hit. It kept her attention for several hours this weekend! (Like how she is using that left hand to draw!)

We were very happy to see see Kerry on Friday and we kept ourselves pretty busy all weekend. Miss H loved going to the park today- even though it was a little chilly. Our little daredevil is not afraid to climb everything and loved the big slide.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
