No snow this week!

17 Feb

Well, none that has stuck around. I really wish the 10 foot piles we have around our house and places of work would go away. They are becoming quite a nuisance and I am over their presence.

Even though the snow has stopped- we still have a wagon in the middle of our living room. The novelty has not warn off and I can actually put Hadley in it and manage to finish getting us ready to leave the house. You know, putting my shoes and socks on without a little person trying to steal/eat/lick them is a major morning accomplishment.

Hadley is really trying to walk but is being hindered by the fact that when she takes a few steps- we get excited and that makes her clap for herself and that makes her lose her balance. It is very cute when she claps for herself but it also guarantees that she will land on her bottom. But, she is trying very hard to master the steps and it makes both of us wonder what else we need to move out of her reach. I am not sure if a walker is a good thing right now 🙂

In other fun news for the week- Kerry’s last day at his current job is this week and he will be starting his new job in March! Yeah!! He is excited about not having to commute downtown anymore and that his new office is just a few miles from here AND the opposite way of all the traffic. Double yeah! The only downside of the new job is no longer getting to wear jeans  everyday so he spent a small fortune on ‘work’ clothes last weekend. I have to say, Kerry looks very nice in a suit.

Otherwise, we are watching the Olympics. Kerry is slightly obsessed with curling. If you have questions about curling rules, strategies or history- let Kerry know. Seriously, I think it is because he is from Minnesota.

I just randomly stopped by your blog from SITS and debated on leaving a on comment because don’t want it to sound weird but here goes…. I lost my daughter almost 2 years ago, she passed away after being born premature. I have been having some tough days lately and keep looking for a sign that she is “here.” So as I said, I randomly clicked on your blog and started reading. I instantly got goosebumps, my daughter’s name was Hadley and I have not heard of another with her name since. Your daughter is beautiful. I’m glad to see someone living up to the name. I just wanted you to know that your blog made me smile tonight, I feel like I got the sign from my little one that I needed.
    Thanks

Hey! I had to come visit from SITS when I saw the title of your post. I figured you just HAD to live near me. I’m in Stafford, VA — we just went back to school today for the first time this month! 🙂

Also, congrats to your hubby on the new job that goes opposite of traffic. It sounds fantastic! I refuse to commute — it’s horrible out here!

(I also love snow – and curling – but I’m ready for the snow to be done now.)

Congrats, Kerry, on the new job! Dressing up during the week will make you appreciate your weekend time in jeans much more!

I have a “walker” and in some ways it’s kind of nice, but I really have to keep an eye on her. She almost grabbed eggs from the counter today. That would have been a huge mess.

They look so darned cute walking.
