This was yesterday.
And, this is the rainy, icy mist from today.
Both these ‘weather events’ are enough to have the government on unscheduled leave, all major school systems being closed for the day and businesses across town shut down. For all you out-of-town readers, this is serious. I am sure several of you are laughing about our barely an inch leading to this type of reaction. Even the President found it absurd. But, Kerry and I both worked today and made it to our offices in record time. Only 15 minutes door to door for me this morning. I wish traffic was like this everyday!
We are laughing…here in Lead, SD we have had 114 inches or 9 1/2 feet of snow since november 1st….and that does not include the roughly 60 inches we had prior to November 1st…our low temp for the year so far has been -29 and the low wind chill has been -55….
Dad- Lead does get a lot of snow but you only have 2,000 people who live there. we might have more people in my office building 🙂
I’m sure there are more people in your office building than there are in Lead…but remember we have very steep streets for the most part and our snow equipment consist of one road grader, one front end loader, one small bob cat, one salt truck and one pickup with a plow on it……although the lack of traffic does help……but we have no public transportation…..
