Mom, Leigh and I started off Christmas Eve with a trip to the Warner Theatre to see the Washington Ballet’s Nutcracker. It was FANTASTIC! Leigh and I were both in the Nutcracker for many Christmas performances and figured out that we had not seen a production of the ballet since 1989. It was a wonderful show- the set, the dancers, all the costumes were so festive and Leigh is already making plans for us to go next year.
We then met up with Kerry and filled ourselves with Landini Brothers pasta and headed to Annapolis.
We forgot to take pictures of all of us on my camera but we had a great morning.
And, we got some great presents from everyone! Baby V has the start of a great library with some of our favorites from Shel Silverstein, Dr. Seuss and Eric Carle. Plus, my favorite book- The Monster at the End of this Book. Our family added some new books into the mix with a book about Sanibel, a Seahorse, a dog named Jake, Smokey from Tennessee and The Black Hills.
Baby V got some very cute clothes (some are slighly biased towards Kerry’s alma mater):
Here is a close-up of us as babies:
And, to update everyone on our progress- we hit 26 weeks today and this is the only picture on my camera from today. Only 14 more weeks to go. It is all moving very quickly!
Our nursery is almost complete since we received all our bedding today from Mom. It is currently being washed but I will post pictures soon.
It has been a Christmas tradition for the last few years to go the movies and this year we picked Marley and Me. We were both fans of the book and the movie did not disappoint- we laughed, cried (well, Mom and I did) and could definitely relate to the story.
We hope everyone- Dad and Kathy in South Dakota, The Vanek family in Minnesota and anyone else reading from afar had a great holiday and wishing you the best in 2009!
we hope you get as much pleasure from your favorite book as i did with you……I read it enough that both of us had it memorized…..word for word………
