Great October weekend

26 Oct

The weekends always seem to go by way too fast! Saturday, I spent the day at Falling Water (a ‘weekend home’ Frank Lloyd Wright designed in Pennsylvania) with mom, Sue and Carol. It was a nice drive through western Maryland and into Pennsylvania. The house was amazing to see and has recently been added to the The Smithsonian Life List (28 places in the world to see). The architecture of the house is what brings visitors but all of us were fascinated by the Kaufman’s art collection. They had original Picasso paintings, Audobon prints and several Tiffany lamps just around the house. We were only allowed to take pictures outside:

Kerry ventured to DC for part of the day Saturday but was happy to spend the rainy day watching college football. Unfortunately, the Volunteers did not beat Alabama. He is now claiming Minnesota as the home team.

On Sunday, we went down to watch Jay, Tiffany and Renee run in the Marine Corp Marathon. The weather was perfect for the race! As we walked over from Arlington, we realized there were very few times a year to walk across Memorial Bridge and have NO traffic. I made Kerry pose in front of the Lincoln Memorial:

We met up with Brad, Rebecca and Chris to cheer on the runners at mile 11 and we ended up seeing Jay, TIffany and Renee at mile 11,16, 20 and the finish. Our 6 mile trek around town was nothing compared to their 26.2 mile run!

Tiffany is in the turquoise shirt and Jay is right next to her:

I am officially 17 weeks but we did not get a picture. I don’t look any different for last week 🙂
