Hoppy Easter 2013!

31 Mar

Saturday’s weather was much better than Sunday. Miss H has been begging to paint outside since her birthday and it was finally a perfect day for it. She enjoyed the finger paints and now is super excited to use all the brushed Grandma brought for her. The weather was great but then the cruddy weather came back for Sunday.

We had a pretty low-key Saturday. We had our first vet visit with Miss S and she did great. The vet was surprised about how calm she was and even joked about taking her home. Then, it was time for egg dyeing.

It was serious stuff. And, on a serious note- what do I do with 20 hardboiled eggs??

Miss H got spoiled by the Easter Bunny and had to find eggs in the house (I think there was still some that she needs to located). Then, we had some friends and family over for lunch. At one point, Miss H passed out paper and ordered everyone to color. And, they listened.

On a funny note- Miss H loved to tell everyone that Miss H is a ‘German Shepherd.’ This is a true statement. However, when describing other animals, we now have a ‘German penguin,’ and a ‘German frog.’ While we were reading stories tonight, she asked if Cindy Moo was German too?

All the attention wore MIss S out today.

Inauguration Weekend

20 Jan

And, we did not go this time either. Last time, I was 29 weeks pregnant and was not really in the mood to be around 2 million people in the cold. This time, I did not think Miss H could handle the crowds (or I could handle the crowd with a 3 year old) so we are hosting a play date and will watch it on TV.

We started off the weekend with gymnastics and then errands to check out tile or stone or marble for our kitchen backsplash. Miss H was disappointed in the lack of pink for the kitchen but did have fun touching all the samples. I found a few I liked and now just have to wait for the price quote. Mom came to visit and we took her to a new furniture store I discovered. Miss H was thrilled to find the ‘hanging diamonds.’

And, yes- she is wearing her Halloween costume. Best money I have spent in years.

Other errands included the grocery store and they had an awesome Super Bowl display. Miss H keeps asking to go back.

Today, we enjoyed the 60 degree weather (sorry Minneapolis and Vermont folks!) with a neighborhood walk, a trip to the playground, a hair cut, Home Depot and the library. Miss H loves to pick out books and is starting to sound out words. She loves to be read to and knows there is always someone willing to read the same book over and over and over.

We are so happy she loves books!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
